As you can probably guess by the title Ieuan and I were incredibly lucky to go and watch Ed Sheeran live in the Principality Stadium in Cardiff. A bus had been organised for a few of us going to the concert from Fishguard so Ieuan and I took that opportunity. At 1pm the bus was ready to leave for our 2.5 hour journey to the capital.
I decided to go for something comfy but not too casual for my outfit so I wore a Boohoo bodysuit under a cute Primark denim dress with tights and boots. I spent my whole day wondering if I should have been wearing the outfit bodysuit then tights or tights then bodysuit. Decided on the latter as it saved the tights slipping down. Ieuan looked dapper in his outfit too.
So by about 3:30pm we arrived. We didn’t have any plans to kill time before the concert but we were hungry. We grabbed a McDonalds and ate standing up outside. I haven’t ever seen Cardiff as busy at it was, even for the rugby, it was so much busier today. We decided to get some drinks.
We got a few drinks from Yale in Brewery Quarter, again it was packed. I got two Strawberry Mojitos (without mint) and Ieuan got two pints. We sat/stood outside to enjoy these. It was so busy that we decided to go somewhere else for some more drinks. We went to Las Iguanas and waited 30 minutes in the queue but their cocktails are worth it. We got two Pornstar Martini’s and two Strawberry Daquris.
After this we decided to make our way to the Stadium. Las Iguanas had absolutely no signal so when we came out we had a few missed calls and texts from my sister who was also in Cardiff for the concert. We called her back and decided to meet her and her boyfriend and all go in together. We were standing and had to enter through gate one. We got though security pretty quickly and in pretty efficiently. The first supporting act had already been on by the time we got in. We decided to get some drinks and go to the loo before Anne-Marie, that took a lot longer than expected, so many people. Drinks in tow we made our way to the pitch to find a place to stand ready for Anne Marie.
We had seen Anne-Marie before in the Biggest Weekend so I knew she was going to be good. She was great, really enjoyed her performance and I am a fan of her songs anyway. By this point the Stadium had started filling right up. We decided on one more trip, the bar for the boys first and the loo for the girls. The queue was so long, it took us ages and just as we were walking back Ed was starting.
Of course he was amazing. I’ve seen him twice before, both in festivals but seeing him in a concert was just something else! He is just amazing and I am so grateful that I got to go. It was a once in a lifetime experience.
