This blog post isn’t exactly true. I know great way to start it off! This is one of my current everyday makeup routines, but I chop and change it a lot.
This is what I wore for a Sunday out with Ieuan, we didn’t do much but I wanted to make some effort.
I started off with my moisturiser, if you’ve seen my previous makeup posts you’ll know I love this simple one. It makes my skin feel great. I do find myself rotating moisturisers on a weekly basis as I find if I use one too often I don’t see the good effects on my skin after a while. Next, the MUA pro base in banana blur. This states it’s a mattifying primer but I really don’t feel that when I use it. It feels hydrating and moisturising and I really like it!
Next my base. Right, I got the Revolution Conceal and Define Foundation because I adore the concealers and heard so many good things about it. I like it, but not much. It’s matte and full coverage and on my dry skin I don’t think it works the best. I applied it with a brush and hated it so this time I applied it with a damp sponge and liked it. That’s until I looked a bit closer and saw it clinging to my dry bits and creasing loads under my eyes and in my smile lines – which aren’t usually very prominent. Regardless of that I do like this foundation and do still reach for it over my other everyday ones when I want more coverage. Like I just said, can’t go wrong with the Revolution concealers. I use the one in my shade (C1) as a concealer and use a darker shade (C13.5, possibly too dark) to bronze up my face. I then, after blending out as much creasing as I can, set everything into place with my Revolution Bake & Finish loose powder. This is relatively new to my regime and I like it but I do find it super drying so not great paired with the already drying foundation – on my skin that is!
To add some colour to my face I use the Sleek blush in ‘Life’s a Peach’. To add a healthy looking glow I use MUA highlight. It’s like a pink pearl colour and while it’s not the most blinding of highlights, I love using it for everyday looks!
For my brows I don’t think anything will ever change. I use the NYX Brow Pomade in Brunette and fill them in with a small angle brush. When all of that is done I spray some Mac Prep & Prime hoping to give my face some moisture and set it. When that’s dry I take the NYX Worth the Hype mascara and coat my top lashes. This isn’t my favourite mascara but it does the job for subtle everyday looks.
And that’s basically my everyday makeup look. It’s quite minimal but that’s what I want when I’m not really doing anything all day! Oh and I forgot to include it but at this time of the year Nivea lip balm is my best friend and nothing else on my lips!!
After reading through I realised I had forgotten to use my NYX brow mascara to keep those brows in place, which I never usually forget! Never mind – Thanks for reading. Do you use any of these products? Or have you tried any and not gotten along with them, let me know!

Interesting to see your opinion on the Revolution Foundation! I was debating getting it but I think I’ll skip – my skins dry too & I like to apply foundations with a brush rather than a sponge so that trick won’t work for me! It’s such a shame at drying as I think the concealer is really good xxx

I think it works great with a hydrating primer and a lot of moisturiser! xxx
