Lewis Capaldi @ Cardiff March 2020

On the 11th March Ieuan and I went to Cardiff on the train. We had tickets to Lewis Capaldi. We got to Cardiff late afternoon and decided to find somewhere to drink and go for a wee (that was mostly me needing that, lol). We headed to Brewery Quarter and one of the pubs was giving money off drinks if you were attending the concert so we had a couple of drinks there.

We had a table booked for an early dinner in the Slug and Lettuce so when it was almost time for our booking we headed there. Ieu and I love a cocktail, so this was why we booked to go there, although the menu did look amazing. We weren’t exceptionally hungry, so we went for a share platter of chicken. This was so yummy. We had a few more cocktails as it was 2-4-1, so we couldn’t let that offer go a miss. Ruth and Lloyd were driving up after Ruth finished school, by the time we were on our 3rd cocktail they had arrived and popped to McDonalds to grab food quickly. They then came to meet us at the Slug & Lettuce.

We all had a few drinks there together and then headed to the Motorpoint. When we got there we grabbed some drinks from the bar and then found somewhere to stand. We waited a little and he eventually started.

He was so good and I can’t believe how talented he is. He literally sounded just as good live as he does on the albums and singles. He played for about an hour and a half and then it was time to go home. Ruth was on the water all evening so was driving us home, it was a fun journey with singing to old, classic songs.

The kittens were VERY happy to see us (mostly Ieuan) home too.
